The Port Byron IT Department can be reached at 315-758-0080 between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Monday through Friday to help answer your questions. If you can't make it to the school and need the Wi-Fi Bus to visit your home, please email at pbtech@pbcschools.org, and someone will reach out to you to schedule stops.

Food Distribution

The district currently has meal pickups scheduled on Mondays and Thursdays, from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. - 6 p.m. at the Arts Entrance.

Distance Learning

A.A. Gates: All teachers, including special areas have created online learning platforms through Google Classroom. Google Classroom allows teachers to create individual topics, share announcements, post assignments, and view student work if it’s been submitted. Elementary students have varying knowledge of how Google Classroom works. There will be a learning curve for many students, especially in the primary grades. Adults at home will need to help support the learning of our students.

In the Google Classroom, you will find regular announcements/helpful information from school administrators, the nurse’s office, family supports, and technology tips on that site. The code for joining the Google Classroom is: 5u2pfxy. Only students with Port Byron emails can initially join the classroom. If you have other technology related issues, please email pbtech@pbcschools.org.

Dana West: All teachers have created online learning platforms through Google Classroom. Google Classroom allows teachers to create individual classes, post assignments, and view/assess student work after it has been submitted in real-time. All students in the Jr.-Sr. high school are familiar with how classroom works.

Students should also join the Dana L. West Jr.-Sr. High School Google Classroom. They will find regular announcements/helpful information from school administrators, the nurse’s office, and instructional support team on that site. The code for joining the Google Classroom is gl4oweu. Only students with Port Byron emails can initially join the classroom. If you have other technology related issues, please email pbtech@pbcschools.org.

Social Emotional Support

A.A. Gates: The elementary counselors will check in periodically with students who they regularly support. If a student needs to speak with their counselor, please email support@pbcschools.org. This email address will be monitored by multiple members of the student support team. For individual counselor emails, see below:

Stacy Austin Root – Counselor – saustin-root@pbcschools.org
Arin Elia – Counselor – aelia@pbcschools.org
Lynn Fryer – Psychologist – lfryer@pbcschools.org

We will continue to work through obstacles as they arise. The best way to solve problems is through open lines of communication. Please reach out to me at jpodolak@pbcschools.org with any questions or concerns. Thank you in advance for your support.

Dana West: If a student needs to speak with their counselor, they can reach out to them by email. If a student not sure who to contact, they can send an email to guidance@pbcschools.org.

We will continue to work through obstacles as they arise. The best way to solve problems is through open lines of communication. Please reach out to me at mjorgensen@pbcschools.org with any questions or concerns.
